Picture of the week: Speedtsering out the Miata!
In Japan the Mazda Miata / MX5 (NA) is known as the Eunos Speedster. Apparently the owner of this Speedster thought it wasn’t speedy enough and hacksawed a kaido racer trim around it!
I do have a split feeling about this: one part of me shouts what a cool thing! and the other part of me shouts OMGWTF?! and another part of me is just longing to see more of this monster!

According to the poster somewhere in 1981 at the Fuji Grand Championship these photos were shot outside in the parkinglot. Now thirtyone years later they emerge on Youtube as a video with suitable late 70s/early 80s disco track underneath it!
Looking at the Celica XX makes me believe either a brand new one was treated the kaido racer style or it should rather have been a bit later in the 80s.

This week we got a Soarer GZ20 with victory pipes and in good kaido racer fashion the exhaust tips are left blank.
I just love the sharknose and the paint job: just look at all that vinyl wrap! Must have taken hours to apply!

Okay the end result is not 100% realistic, but at least the hoodfins, oil cooler and blistered fender flares should be realistic enough? 😉

These deep dished steelies of at least 9J in width are custom made for an AE86 drift car, nevertheless I had to share this picture!
Measuring the width of your lip with a pack of Mild Sevens or a mobile phone is sooo last year! Measuring in cats is far more accurate! 😉
