Would it be a crime? Not if people are willing to part with them although I think creeping about after midnight in a car park with a screwdriver probably does constitute criminal activity! I guess its a conundrum similar to Star Wars fans who either like to keep their action figures in boxes or take them out and play with them and swap parts. In my ill-informed opinion if it makes people happy and no one gets hurt, what more could anyone want??
