More auction rims: these 13J Hayashi Sakura rims were for sale up till last sunday. I already was familiar with the Sakura rims before but never this wide. They really look fantastic with a big lip like this one:

The rims itself are only a pair, so no full set. They have an offset of -78 which, according to my calculations, need about 15 cm of fender extenders to fit on my own car!

Even though these rims are back in production again since 2 years they really are something special!

While browsing auctions.yahoo.co.jp I came across a really nice set of, for me, unknown rims under a bosozoku style Toyota Mark II MX41 Hardtop Grande. I looked it up and found them to be vintage Hart Racing rims:

Eventhough this picture is very blurry the Mark II really looks nice with those Hart Racing rims:

In my search on identifying these rims I found an old advertisement of Hart Racing rims on Japanese Nostalgic Car blog:

They really are good looking rims, especially when they get a big lip after 10J and more!
Just in case you actually want to buy them:

And how deep is your dish? 😛
by banpei with no comments yetI found this great video by zeppann13J (I wonder what that 13J in his name means! 😉 ) and it is all about rims:
Not all rims are deep dish but almost all of them are very very wide! 🙂
I wonder how many of these rims you were unable to identify the design… I have to admin I couldn’t identify 3 of them… 😮
This week I found a set of SSR Mk. I for you:
Deep dish SSR Mk. I
This Skyline Japan has 215/40/15 tires on the front and 245/35/15 on the rear. The tires are not stretched much so most probably these Speed Star Mk. I rims are at the front 8 inch wide and at the rear 10J wide.
Here you can see them in full glory on the shark nosed Skyline Japan:

Last week we asked you about what you think of the rim width on Bosozoku styled cars. Most of you thought they can never be wide enough and runner up was 10J as a good comparison between deep dish and extremely wide rims!
This weeks poll is about the styling of the site: we changed over to a new image format:
Old image format
The old image width is 350 pixels wide and allows us to wrap the text around the image. This looks cool but sometimes makes the texts unreadable.
So we decided upon this new image format:
New image format
The new image width is 460 pixels wide and fills up the full width of the text so there is no wrapping.
So what is your opinion about the image size change?
