This week another classic design: the SSR mesh rims!
Deep dish SSR Formula Mesh rims
SSR mesh rims feature two types: the Formula Mesh and the (Full) Reverse Mesh. The difference between the two designs is the lip: the Formula Mesh has an extra lip in the center of the lip while the Reverse Mesh have a straight lip.
What is more kyusha than a really deep dish set of RS Wantanabe rims?
Two 12J wide 14 inch RS Wantanabe rims
RS Wantanabe was one of the first alloy rims manufacturers in Japan and these 8 spoke rims have been manufactured since the start of the company in 1968!
Deepest lip on RS Wantanabe possible
These rims are the widest RS Wantanabe wheels available and have an offset of -57! I wouldn’t buy these rims in this auction: they are damages and two new rims bought at the factory cost less than these two!
You can find them for sale here:

This week some USDM deep dish rims:
Fake SSR Mk. I rims?
Even though these rims look really well on this Toyota Cressida they are fakes! To me these imitation SSR Mk. I rims are unknown but it is quite obvious they are copied from the SSR Mk. I.
However the Cressida itself is the best looking zokusha outside Japan I’ve ever seen!
Best looking zokusha Cressida outside Japan
This Cressida has oldskool curbfeelers. Haven’t seen those since my stepdad had to remove them from his Datsun 100a due to stricter law prohibiting them to be mounted on any car in Holland.
More auction rims: these 13J Hayashi Sakura rims were for sale up till last sunday. I already was familiar with the Sakura rims before but never this wide. They really look fantastic with a big lip like this one:
Deep dish 13J Hayashi Sakura rims
The rims itself are only a pair, so no full set. They have an offset of -78 which, according to my calculations, need about 15 cm of fender extenders to fit on my own car!

Even though these rims are back in production again since 2 years they really are something special!

While browsing auctions.yahoo.co.jp I came across a really nice set of, for me, unknown rims under a bosozoku style Toyota Mark II MX41 Hardtop Grande. I looked it up and found them to be vintage Hart Racing rims:

Eventhough this picture is very blurry the Mark II really looks nice with those Hart Racing rims:

In my search on identifying these rims I found an old advertisement of Hart Racing rims on Japanese Nostalgic Car blog:

They really are good looking rims, especially when they get a big lip after 10J and more!
Just in case you actually want to buy them:

And how deep is your dish? 😛
