We have no idea what the purpose is of this streamlined exhaust if you have such a big wing at the back of the car:
Fly over exhaust on Mark II
The exhaust looks like a fly over piping with its triple exhaust pipes.
It may be a bit uncomfortable for the passengers to get out on the passenger side of this car after driving this car for a while. I can imagine it will become something like limbo dancing to get out!
On the other hand you won’t get cold driving to the Tokyo Auto Salon meeting in January!
by banpei with no comments yetThe US Cressida at JCCS 2009 in the picture by Mike Garret made me think of this Japanese Cresta GX71:
JCCS 2009 Cressida inspiration?
Exhausts look very similar: straight double pipe, painted red with a grey finish at the top. Maybe the Cressida got inspired by this Cresta?
Zeb from Riverside posted a couple of zokusha RX7s from his archives and this first generation RX7 was one of them:
Bad plumbing RX7
The exhaust really looks like someone did a bad plumbing job (Mario?). On the other side: the front fenders, MR lookalike rear and taillights swap make the exhaust blend in the total look of this RX7. 😉
I found a bosozoku style inspired exhaust by this US Sil80:
The exhaust has the looks, but it still doesn’t have the right sound…
Last week we found a second big trumpet exhaust and this week we found another one in the Nagoya Racing archives:
And yet another big trumpet exhaust on a Cresta GX71!
