Enjoy this video of the Okinawa kaido racers!
The Skyline C110 hooning with a burnout is the cherry on top of the cake!
This video is a small part of an eighties Japanese TV series. I love that cucaracha horn!

by banpei with no comments yetBack in 1990 when the big black VHS tape was still the distribution channel for (car) video magazines it was Daijiro Inanda who created Video Option and Iwahashi Kenitirou Kamikaze Road. Of course most of these tapes were later on either overwritten with some soap series or thrown away in the garbage.
Lucky for us there are some people who actually take the effort and digitize these old tapes and put them on Youtube. Enjoy 13 minutes of 1990 kaido racer madness!
Funny to see that Team Madonna was making similar insane creations back then as they are currently still doing!
My personal favorite was the Mercedes cabrio replica (done with a Mark II Super Lucent GX61). Which one is yours?

The Tomica Skyline RS KDR30 Super Silhouette was put up for display at the Nostalgic Car Show in Tokyo held in May 2011. During the show the KDR30 was, obviously, protected by a couple of fences, but this guy was lending a hand during the build up of the show and he was able to shoot these two amazing close up videos of the car:
Imagine being this close to such an icon! I would probably have serious issues to resist touching the car. 😛
In the second video we get a good glimpse what’s normally under the hood:
Just look at how big that intercooler is. Imagine how much air has to be pushed through that thing!
I spotted this video at Youtube user customchiba’s channel, a Skyline C210 on its way to Tokyo for the Auto Salon:
