Finally we managed to kick off the search for the baddest of the toughboy zokushas! With a toughboy zokusha we mean the pre 80s ride with big loud pipes, extreme wide wheels and scraping to the ground on every bump. Only to be driven by the toughest guys!
7M Kev suggested to do a poll on this. It will be the same as the sudden death series when we searched for the most iconic zokusha: we take two toughboy zokushas and you take your pick! After a week we will look at the results and put up a next pair for you! 😉
In total we have selected 16 cars, from which 3 were selected by others. You can still send in your nominations and we’ll see if we can still fit them in the lineup.
So, this week we start with:
Nissan Laurel C130 #1
As you can see: the Laurel has a headlight swap and you can’t hardly see the road beneath it. With the 70s lip and paintscheme this Laurel looks even tougher than any extended fender would have!
versus
Nissan Fairlady Z S30 #1
With its immitation G-nose this Fairlady Z S30 looks really tough! It also has a first generation Celica liftback taillight swap and the tsurikawa hints the car won’t be able to take speedbumps in a normal fashion anymore.
Another surprise: the Team Madonna Crown proved to be more favorable than the Cedric with its wild flakey paint scheme!
Bosozoku style Team Madonna Toyota Crown
That wraps up this first round of the Sudden Death!
Winners of the first round are:
1. Bosozoku style Skyline C210
2. Bosozoku style Fairlady 280ZX
3. Toyota Crown S130 with spread winged exhaust
4. Nissan Gloria C330 Bosozoku style
5. Kyusha styled Nissan Skyline C210 Japan
6. Toyota Mark II GX71 inside out exhaust
7. Bosozoku style Tomica Skyline RS Super Silhouette Formula replica
8. Bosozoku style Team Madonna Toyota Crown
So this week the second round starts! The first two survivors will compete against each other:
Bosozoku style Skyline C210

I must say this is a very well done video! 🙂
Also both the Kenmeri Skyline C110 and the Nissan Fairlady Z S30 (with G-Nose) are very good looking zokusha’s!

Some time ago we did a feature on the bosozoku style Nissan Fairlady Z S30. This week we feature a video with Daijiro Inada looking at the Nissan Fairlady Z S30 (and its successors) including a very nice bosozoku styled version of a Grand Champion Fairlady Z copy by Daisuke Shouten!
Part one:
Very funny to see Nomuken making the mistake of how to start a carburetted car: he wants to start the Fairlady by turning the ignition key. Lucky enough they show him how it is done properly. Funny enough: Daijiro Inada can’t drift, but surely he can start a carburetted car properly! 😀
Part two:
Note that this bosozoku styled Fairlady Z has the rear lights of a Skyline C210 Japan and a (badly fit) G-nose. In my opinions this is one of the best looking bosozoku styled Fairlady Zs I’ve seen so far!
by banpei with no comments yetThe Nissan Skyline Japan C210 we feature in our logo clearly won the first sudden death!
Winners so far:
Bosozoku style Skyline C210
This weeks contenders:
Bosozoku style Fairlady 280ZX
versus
Bosozoku style Mazda (sexy) Cosmo RX5
So it will be the Nissan Fairlady 280ZX or the Mazda (sexy) Cosmo RX5?
