This Skyline R31 Silhouette was shot at the Classic Car Show in Nagoya last weekend:
Exhaust of the week: R31 silhouette
The car is a great homage to the Super Silhouette racers! Of course the Super Silhouette racers didn’t feature those huge pipes sticking out of the bonnet, but in looks they were equally great! 😉
A zokusha meeting between a JZX71 Cresta and a sharknose R31 Skyline on a driftcourse can only mean one thing: FUN!
Later on a couple of other GX71 and GX61 join in to share the fun! At the same time you can hear a motorcycle revving some tunes in the background of this 10 minute video.
There was also some in-car footage posted on Youtube of the R31 and JZX71. Here is the R31 in-car video:
And here the JZX71 in-car video:
This time a very small zokusha meeting: the infamous Chaser MX41 and an unknown Skyline R31 go head to head on the Federal Rd. circuit:
The power difference between the two cars is apparent: the 1JZ powered Chaser literally smokes the Skyline, however that was not their point. They competed in the twin drift competition and became third during the event! And as a bonus this video shows some of the other contestants as well!
We’ve posted some overhead exhausts already, but this Nissan Skyline R31 is quite a rarity:

Apart from being a rare zokusha it also had some very serious modifications: it was wide bodied in a proper granchan fashion and its spoiler makes me think of the late 90s trend of the bigger the better spoilers! Also the roof chop is done quite drastically!

At the rear end it all looks a bit too flat to me. Reminds me of the VIP Celsior by Daisuke Shouten.
