To make you forget last weeks Green Griffin wallpaper we have a nice Kyusha Kai styled Toyota Cresta GX71 with SSR Star Sharks for you:

BTW: did anyone manage to keep the Green Griffin as a wallpaper for more than one day? 😛

This week we have a new sharknose for you: a Toyota Cresta GX71 sitting on a set of old skool Work wheels:
Hot or not: sharknose Toyota Cresta GX71
And to give you a better impression, another picture of the Cresta on a set of SSR mk1s:
Hot or not: sharknose Toyota Cresta GX71
So what’s the verdict, hot or not?
by banpei with 1 commentYou don’t see bosozoku styled Cresta GX61s too often, so this is a bit of a rarity:
Flagpole Cresta GX61
The two exhaust pipes mounted on both sides of the car remind me a bit of the flagpoles used by the bosozoku on their bikes! Large long poles with a big “motorclub” flag on it. Maybe the owner of this zokusha was inspired by those bikes. 😉
The teamname is another wacky Japanese name: Team 2 Lay. Uhm… Did they mean they were too late and misspelled that or did they mean they want to get laid? 😛
by banpei with no comments yetThe US Cressida at JCCS 2009 in the picture by Mike Garret made me think of this Japanese Cresta GX71:
JCCS 2009 Cressida inspiration?
Exhausts look very similar: straight double pipe, painted red with a grey finish at the top. Maybe the Cressida got inspired by this Cresta?
The exhaust of the week is a flashy Cresta JZX81:
Exhaust of the week: Flashy Cresta JZX81
This Cresta is the top of the line Cresta: it features the sports seats and is powered by the 1JZ-GTE engine.
These later model Crestas are quite rare as a bosozoku styled car. They are more popular among drifters and most of them are disappearing rapidly due to this.
